Safim has had many problems in the past few years with robberies at night because of total darkness. There is no electricity, and no plans for electricity to be installed any time soon. Also, food goes off very quickly due to no refrigeration. Therefore, several families in Safim have got together to try to bring electricity

One of the areas that we really wanted to get into is renewable energy! As the sun is so strong and powerful in Guinea-Bissau, we wanted to help the people harness and use the energy. This means they can now use it for lighting, fridges, cooking and to charge any appliances they have in their homes!
